₹35,000 Budget Gaming PC - 2013 India (with shopping links) - Intel / Nvidia version

We've always been through that time when there's no hefty amount of money to spend for a PC yet we want to have at taste of the latest extremely resource demanding games at a decent FPS. Well, for those I present a tight budget GAMING PC build which will be able to play the newest games like Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 etc. nicely. Each product is accompanied with its online shopping link.

Before you go on, it's better to make it clear what is NOT included in the article (and hence in the budget)
·         Case or Cabinet
·         Monitor
·         Mouse - Keyboard
·         Sound System (or headphones)
·         External Storage

With that being made clear, we're ready to proceed.

The Processor:  Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz [link (flipkart)] - ₹7250
The latest gaming engines are more GPU intensive. Consequently CPU doesn't really affect performance in gaming as long as it's not bottlenecking. So I'm going easy on this. The dual core i3 processor should be able to decently handle any of the games you throw at it with the GPU I'll mention later on in this article.

The Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H  [link (flipkart)] - ₹4350
This is a basic one - a basic motherboard to handle the CPU & GPU potential  efficiently. Not really meant for CPU overclocking, as the i3 can't be overclocked due to it's locked architecture. The motherboard packs 4 RAM slots for upto 32GB of DDR3 memory and a PCIe x16 slot, ideal for the GPU. The USB 3.0 ports are perfect icing on the cake.

The GPU: Gainward NVIDIA GTX650 1GB GDDR5. [link(flipkart)] - ₹7555
As the GPU is the most important part of a gaming PC, there's no compromising on this one.  This keplar-based GPU can handle the most demanding titles decently at med-high settings.

Memory:  G.skill Sniper DDR3 2x4GB [link(flipkart)] - ₹4710
The RAM plays quite a important role in gaming, so I went with the G.skill sniper series, which provides excellent overclocking capabilities.

Storage: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB [link(flipkart)] - ₹3876
This 1TB 7200RPM hdd should be enough to store all your content and offer enough speed not to make you frustrated. I'm using it for years now with absolutely no problem.

Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD Burner [link(flipkart)] - ₹1025
Not much to say about this. Basic DVD RW with 24x speed. BluRay drive is not really needed at this time. If required in future you can easily buy one.

PSU: Corsair VS550 550W PSU [link(flipkart)] - ₹3587
PSU is one of the most important components of your PC. DO NOT SETTLE FOR A CHEAP PSU! I know many a people with expensive motherboard/GPUs burnt up due to malfunction of cheap PSUs. Expenditure of a few extra bucks will ensure the life of the expensive components in your PC.

_________________________________________________________________________________
Total : ₹32353

Which is much less than ₹35,000.

NOTES: I've intentionally left out the Case (or Cabinet) because the online collection of flipkart is not that diverse. I've also left more than enough room in the budget for a descent casing. You should go to the local dealer and pick a cabinet which provides good room for air circulation, whichever suits your style. Make sure it has USB 3.0 headers.

Performance & Benchmarks: As this is a mid range gaming PC, most recent games will run on med-high settings.
Here are some expected average FPS ratings:
[At recommended settings. No AA. 1920x1080]

Battlefield 3 : 41.1 [At recommended settings. No AA. 1920x1080]
Crysis 2 : 41.7 [High settings, 1920x1080)
Max Payne 3 : 43.7 [Normal settings, 1920x1080]
Batman - Arkham City : 42.1 [Extreme settings, 1920x1080]

Android 5.0 : Key Lime Pie - Rumors and concepts

After over an year with the Android 4.x family (the "Ice-Cream Sandwich" and the "Jelly-Bean") rumors and concepts about the predecessor is surfacing all over the web. This article will shuffle through the facts, tentative dates, concepts and expectations from the next installment of the world's most popular mobile OS, Android 5.0 - Key Lime Pie.
The Key Lime Pie is almost ready to be served!

The "facts" and "hints":

On 31st  January this year, a Qualcomm Roadmap was leaked, showing the Android 5.0 being announced between April & June. But interestingly, soon after it was taken down form all the tech publications due to a copyright infringement claim by Qualcomm Industries, only to further strengthen the expectations.
The developer conference of Google, named Google I/O 2013 took place from May 15 to May 17 this year, almost a month earlier from the usual mid-June dates in the previous years. Though it was expected that Google will be unveiling the next Android at the conference, unfortunately it remained an expectation.
However, Google was not entirely silent on the matter at the I/O. During one of the sessions called 'Android Protips 3: Making Apps Work Like Magic', one of the slides shown by Android developer relations tech lead Reto Meier contained a robot eating Key Lime Pie. Also, a game shown at the conference contained two options called "Jelly-Bean" and the "Key Lime Pie"

Slide showing a droid eating a "key lime pie"

Expected and concept features:

Reportedly, Android 5.0 is to use Linux 3.8 kernel, which will reduce the memory usage of the OS, making the UI and multitasking fluid and snappier. Also, the lesser resource usage means it will be available for mid to low range devices as well, which didn't make their way up to the 4.2 Jelly-Bean update. Other tentative features include new and advanced lock-screen widgets, a new unified Google IM service called Babble new & revamped UI etc.
Here are some concept UI screenshots we found lying around the web.

Release Date:

It seems like Google initially planned to announce Key Lime Pie at this I/O itself, but then postponed it for some reason (minor glitches, maybe?) word is on the air, that the Android 5.0 "Key Lime Pie", along with the Nexus 5, is going to land in Q4, most probably in October itself.

What do YOU  think about the Android 5.0? Don't hesitate to share them below!

Need for Speed The Run - Complete Walkthrough

When I started NFS The Run at first I thought it would be boring as NFS Shift, Hot Persuit and other new NFS games. But after playing about an hour my mind just changed. As it's stunning visuals and thrilling gameplay completely overwhelemed my somewhat low expectations I was just absorbed in the game. That is the reason for which I played it for 5 hours straight just with a break of 5 minutes. The following article will give you a brief walkthrough, along with descriptions of gameplay.

PART-1:San Fransisco

The first scene we see is in San Francisco, a beautiful city in northern California, USA. At the downtown area of San Francisco, it all starts just from a "JUNK YARD". Well, may be it's a junk yard, but whatever is happening there at the midnight, is not that dull. Jack (the main character of NFS The Run) is tied with the steering wheel of his Porsche with some tapes and the car is going into a hydraulic press for getting crushed. Apparently, the whole arrangement is done by some mobs Jack owes a lot of money to. He was senseless until the car dropped into the pit of the press. Once Jack came to sense the player has to help him get out of the car as there will be instructions flashing on the screen. Once jack is out of the car he gets into another car parked nearby and tries to flee for his life. Unfortunately the mobs notice him and start chasing. The player has to drive the car fast to survive. Otherwise, jack will lose his life by the bullets of the mobs.

However, once Jack survives from the mobs he goes to Sam Harper. She is an old friend of Jack and the main helper through the whole game. Jack talks with her in some Chinese restaurant about paying his debt. Then Sam tells him about The Run. From San Francisco to New York, a long 3000 miles of asphalt. He has to cover it, quicker than anyone,  for $25 Million. Sam says that she will give him 10% of it as she will spend the rest for managing Jack's problem. However, it only depends on the player how he drives. Sam gives a tab to Jack for maintaining contact. This is where The Run actually begins.

The Race Begins:- After 4 hours from this he goes to the garage and the player have to choose a car among 3 to race. The cars are: BMW M3, Shelby GT500, Nissan Fairlady 240z. I chose the BMW as it provides the offer balance of handling and speed. However, once Jack is in the Run the primary objective is to get to Nob Hill where the race starts. Sam informs that he has to reach Las Vegas at the ranking of top 150 among 205 drivers who are racing in the run. As the race starts the cops get the play and starts to shutting down the city exit. Now, Jack has to get out of San Francisco at any cost within 5 minutes. It is  6KMs of driving to the exit of San Francisco and the time is quite short. The player has to drive real fast. However, during the drive when the car comes to the San Francisco Bay Bridge the view is just breathtaking. The Frostbite 2 engine really comes into play on these parts, as we've witnessed in Battlefield 3 as well.

Altamont Pass:-  Once Jack is out of San Francisco the next stage is Altamont Pass road,CA. From here the combat begins for gaining the  150th position at Los Vegas. Well, Altamont pass is quite a long road and Jack has to pass just 10 drivers. It's not much tough to do if you have a bit of previous experience of racing games. The environment of the highway is just as any other highway. Fields, small villages gives you a county feeling. Jack gains 195th position by the end of this race.

After this race you have a  "Make Up Time" race, in other words  a checkpoint race at Interstate 580, Altamont pass. You'll have to cross 12 kms of highway within the given time limit. Each time you cross a checkpoint you will get some time bonus. This is where the stage 1 (West coasts) ends.

Stay tuned for the next part, as it will be published soon!
